Adelaide's major food event has gained world wide recognition as the perfect place to indulge in a global gastronomic experience.

Australia's top chefs will showcase their skills at the Hilton Food and Wine Sessions, Celebrity Cooks on Stage and the LifeStyle Channel Australian Regional Culinary Competition 2001.

The Hilton Food and Wine Sessions, held on Friday the 12th of October includes 4 rooms of Master Class sessions hosted by famous Australian chefs such as Maggie Beer and Dorinda Hafner, and Australian media icon George Negus. Sessions include "Duck done masterfully," "Family secrets," "The vineyard of the sea," "Treasures from our great oceans," and many more. The Melbourne Festival - 10 October - 3 November 2001

The premier annual celebration of art and culture in Melbourne will take place from the 10th of October to the 3rd of November. Many international and local artists will perform a diverse range of theatre, dance, visual arts, opera and music during the festival.

The performances will be held at various outdoor and indoor venues around the city, and many of the artists will perform free of charge.
